If we were to  play a little word association game the first three words I’ve written down below would probably come easy for most people.  But what about the fourth word?

OFF          –          OVER          –          BLACK          –          REPENTANCE

If you were like the many people I’ve done this with live, there might not be a single word that quickly jumps to your mind when I say the word REPENTANCE.  After taking a few moments to reflect you might think of the word sorrow, or turning, and those two words are indeed connected.  But I can assure you, there is a whole lot more to repentance that’s not being talked about.

So, here’s the thing, everyone will be lost who doesn’t repent (Luke 13:3, 5; Acts 3:19; 17:30; Revelation 2:5).  Yes, repentance is actually part of the salvation process.  But if we don’t really know what it is, if we don’t know how it works, if we’re not receiving and participating in it, then – well, we’re lost.  That doesn’t have to be the case.

That’s why in this 12th sermon in this Next Step series we’re looking at Repentance – a working model.
